The advent of the Information Era has brought great changes to many aspects of the society, including the field of education. Accordingly, the education of middle schools in China is now having significant reforms. The Biology Course Standards for Full-Time Compulsory Education of Middle Schools (in trial edition) issued by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China in 2001, Jul. puts forward three new notions of education: "Attention to every student; Improvement of the quality of the students in terms of biology science; Encouragement of exploratory learning." Because of the features of the biology science, the teaching of biology science needs the integration with information technology more urgently in middle schools. There have long been problems in the teaching of biology science. One of the problems is that, for the geographical restrictions, the students could not observe a lot of plants and animals in person while static images are certainly far from enough. The coming into being of the Information Era has provided some new ideas to solve these problems. Anyway, the appropriate ways of integration has remained a major concern for most of the teachers of biology science since few researches accessible in China have provided successful and efficient models of integration. For lack of appropriate models to follow, most of the teachers of biology could only depend on their own understanding and experience in teaching practice, and could not make efficient use of information technology, and just take computers as a simple tool in teaching. The present research attempts to provide an exploration-oriented model of teaching and learning to upgrade the teaching of biology science, which focuses on optimizing the students' learning ways, facilitating exploratory learning, and encouraging the students' active participation and willingness to explore, while developing the students' ability to collect and process information, the ability to acquire new knowledge, the ability to analyze and solve problems, and the ability to communicate and cooperate between each other, with aims to enhance the implementation of quality-oriented education and improve the general quality of the students while deepening teachers' understanding of the new teaching materials and guiding the teachers to actively participate in the reforms of middle school education in China...
