Cooperative learning or collaborative learning has been continuously researched in western countries. Betb Ji Yaqin in Former Soviet Union called it collective teaching. In the early time of 11 century some scholars in the United States have started to research cooperative learning and applied in practices. Dewey organized a test school in Chicago using cooperative learning, Cypress gram Hurst implemented the Dalton plan including three principles and one of them was cooperation. During the 1970s and 1980s the research and application of cooperative learning was quite widespread. Today cooperative learning is becoming a mainstream strategy of the education reforms in worldwide range. Some theorists focus on how the cooperative learning plays an important part in the cultivation of knowledge and emotion education, how to explain it using a theory view and how to summarize the operation mechanism of it from practices.In the recent years of China, in the process of the research of elementary education curriculum and education reform, people are reconsidering the traditional methods of teaching and learning. One of the key in the course reform of 2004 is the change of students'learning methods. It is pointed out in the new course standard that practice by hands, exploration by yourself, cooperation and exchange with each other are the most important methods of students'learning in chemistry. In the general concepts and curriculum implement suggests of new course standard, cooperative learning is becoming a very important concept.
