Since the 1960s when the environment was worsening, the environment edueation has rapidly developed with the aim of fostering a correct view on environment. Soon it has become a very important field in thenternational education. In the 1990s, more attention was paid to the relationship between environment and development and as a result. peoplebad a new idea about the environment education , that is, environment education should turn its face to the sustainable development. This article proves the relationship between the geography and the sustainable development strategy .Geography is a mainstay science through which wecan carry out the strategy of sustainable development which bring the cnprccedented opportunity and challenge for the geographic development. this article analyses the structure frame of the present senior geography eaching maternal, and it reflects the relationship between hnman andthe earth and the theory of sustainable development .At the same time this article expounds the present problems in the geography education. Thus it puts forward the methods and measures of sustainable development, adopting all kinds of education forms about sustainable development education to foster the educated person's value sense of enviroiment and development .So our citizens can stride forward towards the 21t.h century with a higher environment quality and make great contribution for the implement of global sustainable development strategy.
