From 2005, Shijiazhuang begins to give an English course to the pupils of elementary school in the city and it's around. The utter offering of English class among those elementary schools not only brings prosperity to the English teaching, but also brings contradictions. The direction manifestation is that it puts more working burdens on those English teachers. Sometimes, they have to take on extra works. In addition, they have different levels of proficiency in English teaching. It's reported that among those English teachers, one thirds belong to non-English Majors and some takes it as their part-time job. This thesis launches an investigation to explore whether those English teachers in elementary school are satisfied with their work. Concretely speaking, it is composed of five levels: satisfactory degree of the work, evaluation of the work, teachers'welfare and stimulating undertakings, personal factors and environment, organizational management and communication. The result of this investigation indicates that most of the English teachers are satisfied with their work to some degree. I will make a concrete analysis of concrete conditions as followings: in terms of satisfactory degree, their average score is 3.4375 which amounts to satisfaction in general; in terms of the evaluation of work itself, the average score is 3.57 which also amounts to satisfaction in general; in terms of teachers'welfare and stimulating undertakings, the average score is 2.8083 which amounts to mediocre satisfaction. And in other two items, they respectively score 3.6159 and 3.6754, which show they are satisfied with their working conditions. From the statistics, we can see that most teachers are not satisfied with the welfare and stimulating undertakings, the score is far below others.Further investigations show that teachers owning different teaching ages, academic credentials, academic titles and 3-year specialized training scores have outstanding differences in those four levels. Besides, they are greatly different from other teachers groups such as nursery teachers compared to the same satisfactory degree in the two aspects: personal factors and environment and organizational management and communication. To counter this research, I think, we should at first improve teachers'welfare treatment, raise their salary and meet their necessary needs. That will encourage teachers' working passion. Secondly, we should improve their working conditions and create democratic and harmonious atmosphere for them physically and spiritually. Thirdly, we should enhance their professional training and guiding from different stage which will help them widen their horizon. Fourthly, we should instruct teachers to learn to self-regulate and self-relieve. By doing so, they can divert themselves from boredom and keep sound in body and mind. Besides, they should foster a principle of learning for good and promote their self-value.
