| By summarizing and analyzing the whole employment situation of university graduates and that of graduates of computer major,this paper studies the relative factors which exert influence on the employment of graduates majoring in computer and taking Ludong University as an example, it proposes the countermeasures of improving the employment rate of graduates majoring in computer.The first part of the paper analyzes the employment situation of graduates specializing in computer and the market need for them by starting with the present employment situation of the graduates, and concludes four aspects affecting the employment: firstly, social factors, like the imbalance of industrial structure and the regional economical development, as well as job market, job channel and the procedure of employment to be improved; secondly, university factors, such as the rapid increase of computer education scale, the inconsistency between professional talents'cultivation and the social need, ineffectiveness of employment instructions; thirdly, the family factors, for instance, the will and behavior of the graduates will be influenced by their parents and relatives. Finally, the individual factors, such as high expectation of employment, the defects of individual ability and comprehensive quality.The second part carries out the questionnaire survey by taking the 2007 session computer major graduates of Ludong University as the object of research, which includes four aspects: the employment intentions, employment actions, employment results of graduates and their evaluations towards school work. Through analyzing the survey results, we can summarize that the employment situation shows the following characteristics: the desired goals of graduates are more focused, namely, they are taking wait-and-see attitude to work in the west or at the grass-roots level; the ways in which graduates seek for jobs are getting diversified, and a consensus has been reached, that is"getting a job first, choosing job after"; a considerable part of the unemployed graduates are"selective unemployment"; graduates are not quite satisfied with their employments. The employment satisfaction degree is proportional to the agreement between one's job and his special training, employment expectation and actuality; graduates differ on the problem of major setting and they mostly hope that major positioning in university can be improved scientifically, practical teaching reform strengthened and the training of the practical ability of students stressed.The third part, through making use of the computer education and employment guidance of partial foreign universities, referring to the latest research achievements about graduates employment together with relevant interviews, gives the countermeasures for raising employment rate. For example, government needs to improve the relevant employment policy, strengthen the employment service, and standardize publishing procedures of university employment rate statistics; schools should face the society needs, establish multi-level talents training specifications, innovate curriculum, carry out reform and research towards teaching method, set up a practice platform suitable for education innovation and effectively carry out the employment guidance. The graduates should establish a correct employment concept, position scientifically and strive to improve their overall quality. |
