This paper focus on the cultivation of the students'self-identity in the reform school. Based on the current studies, it suggests the concrete form and content of the cultivation of self-identity, takes the growing group of Reform School in Haidian District, Peking as its case, and gropes for the method of how to develop the cultivation of students'self-identity in reform school.In the first part, the author clarifies the reason of studying this theme. Self-identity is a very important conception in the growing process of the youth, its shaping relates to all respects of individuals, and plays an important role in the maturity and perfection of the youth. Meanwhile, because this study is concerned with reform school, it will contribute to innovate the reform education and enhance its quality.In the second part, we analyzes and arranges current literature, including the conception, status, relevant factors concerning self-identity and the newest condition of reform school. It clarifies the conception of self-identity from different angle, then illustrates the model of identity status proposed by Marcia especially. It also summarizes the factors impacting on the shaping of self-identity, and introduces the condition of reform school's education of our country and analyzes the character of reform student and disadvantage of reform education.In the third part, we centered on how to cultivate the self-identity of the youth by literature study. By referring to Brewer's three-dimensional self-construal theory, we suggest three steps of constructing self-identity, i.e. Deconstruction– Reconstruction– Consolidation, and discuss the concrete content of self-identity in details through three respects - cognization, skills, and attitudes.Then taking the growing group of Reform School in Haidian District, Peking as its case, we put the studying line into practice. This part elaborates the whole process of the group, includes the selection of its members, the design and practice of the activities, at last summarizing its effects of practice in reality through the arrangement of group analyzing and result of interviews.The last part is the conclusion and extension of whole study. It deduced that schools play an important role in the cultivation of self-identity of reform students, and concluded the advantage using social work methods in reform education. The study suggests that the cultivation of students'self-identity in the reform school could play a positive role in enhancing the quality of reform education and strengthening the rectification effect by this study. Social work methods are advantageous to the cultivating practice of self-identity of the reform student, and beneficial to compensate the shortage of current reform education form. Meanwhile, this treatise tries to suggest that establishment of the course of self-identity in the reform school, the novelty of which is to perfect and develop the reform education, and further the promotion of healthy growth of reform student.
