As a carrier for web-based education, web-based course is the key factor to guarantee the quality of web-based education. The Ministry of Education has been implementing a series of relevant policies which highly encouraged higher-learning institutions to establish their web-based courses. Thus it has become an upsurge in establishing web-based courses and the number of such courses keeps increaing rapidly. As an efficient way of organizing teaching resources in the web environment, web-based course has become an effective approach to advancing education innovation, communicating high quality learning resources and improving teaching quality in a comprehensive way. To establish the procedure model for web-based courses in higher-learning institutions is the key to the question.Undergoing tentative study on current web-based courses, this thesis analyzes the reluctance of course performance and learner performance in web-based course establishment in higher-learning institutions. It also discusses the feasibility and necessity of introducing human performance technology to web-based course establishment based on the analysis of the connotation of human performance technology. On this basis, it introduces the model and methodology of human performance technology to web-based course establishment and proposes the performance-oriented model for web-based course establishment from two angles known as macro angle (is it necessary to build up web-based courses and to what level the web-based courses should be established) and micro angle (the programming and developing of web-based courses), and put such procedure model into the practice of web-based course establishment. It also validates the availability through web-based course practice of two different courses known as A Guide to Educational Technology and Modem Education Technology. This research offers guidance to teachers of higher-learning institutions for their web-based course establishment and provides following researchers with relevant references for the study on the establishment of web-based courses. |
