Since the Reform, the consciousness of persons, business enterprises, social groups have strengthen, the position and function of the social power increasingly become outstanding during the process of the social-structural change. The movement of social power reflects the vitality of our society, it also brought a new chance and challenge for the development of higher education. This study focuses on the structural change of social power in the movement of modernization of Chinese society. The structural function of social power is always emphasized in State-Society Theories and Theories of Civil Society. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the investigational findings and correlative theories, here I would like to offer my three cents' worth: Universities were passive during the process of donation. There were motivational differences when the donators participated in the activities. The social elite, such as rich men, entrepreneurs, large social groups were more active than others. Universities were combined with donators under the principle of mutual benefit. Donation to universities wasn't only for the pity of the weak, but also for looking for the support of technique, human resources from the universities, and for the repay of reputation.Because the social power occupies more and more social resources, such as material capital and power...etc. they are continuously brought into the important position in the society. From the angle of structuralism, the change of social power's influence depends on their participation in the social public life. However, different corpuses have different opportunities when they participate in public life because of their different position in the social structure. Compared with the poor stratums, the rich stratums probably have more chances to play important roles on the social public realm.
