This research is based on the western hermeneutics. Hermeneutics has been more and more concerned by the academic circles especially in recent years since it was introduced into China in 1980s. It was applied to the history, which formed historical hermeneutics; it was extensively applied to the education, and a great many works were written. But most of them used the idea of hermeneutics as the methodology, they also didn't construct the independent and perfect theoretical system in the view of hermeneutics, which including the elements of the education teaching and the mutual relationship between them. The applied research of hermeneutics in the middle school history teaching is considered as a blank spot. My research proposition is listed below: by applying some theories drawn from hermeneutics, the three most important elements that are textbooks, teachers and students in history teaching are reoriented; re-explain the symbiotic relationship among the three elements, complete the transformation of methodology into ontology.The thesis consists of four parts. The first part discusses this research's theoretical value,which introduces its theoretical bases and the current research at home and abroad. The second part analyses the relationship between hermeneutics and the middle school history teaching, it points out the application of hermeneutics is determined by the characteristics of the history teaching. The third part emphatically analyses the symbiotic relationship among the textbooks, teachers and students in the view of hermeneutics, it is also supported by some examples. The last part makes a discussion on the main problems which exist in the teaching practice, and certain principles are proposed at the same time.
