The theory of learning transfer is a theory that one learning affects another learning, It is a fundamental theory that is concerned generally by the international academic circles. Learning transfer theory has had profound impacts on various lays of elementary education with its development. New courses encourage teachers to try new teaching methods actively, and to employ various teaching modes to implement teaching. This paper discussed the theory of learning transfer. The teaching method application in the subject was researched by combining the theory with information technology teaching practice.This paper introduced the theory and its research of learning transfer. It analyzed factors that affect the effect of learning transfer in teaching of junior middle school information technology. Reflecting day-to-day teaching, some proposals to promote learning transfer were provided. It also analyzed practice of learning transfer theory of the forms of comparison, variant exercise and summarizations, and its effect of teaching practice and development of student's competence. Finally, it described the theory of learning transfer more concretely. Simultaneously, the teaching mode 'Creating circumstances - Analogy and association - Variant exercise - Summarizing and upgrading' was constructed, and teaching cases were designed to guide teaching practice based on the teaching mode.Learning transfer theory needed to be carried out throughout the whole teaching practice of junior middle school information technology. We should establish and use conditions and chances of learning transfer, eliminate and avoid disadvantageous factors, push the idea that teaching is for its transfer into each education activity, and promote the creation of learning transfer actively base on comprehending the occurrence regulation and its impact factors of learning transfer.The objective of the study is promoting the combination of learning transfer theory and information technology teaching practice in junior middle school. It will hasten the teaching reform of information technology and basic quality education.
