With the development of people's living level, the amount of over-fat people increase day by day. Various diseases caused by fat bring great danger to people's health. Hence, the issue of health has received wide attention. Meanwhile, human beings pay more attention to the beauty of their own figure, and yoga has become a social trend. As a low intensity aerobic exercise, whether yoga has weight-reducing effects is still a question. Despite some scholars' claim that yoga has weight-reducing effects, the analysis toward its mechanism is not penetrating enough and always follow the same pattern. Besides, as to whether adults can improve flexibility after long-time yoga exercises, some researches conclude that it has positive effects only based on the index of antexion; in contrast, researches concerning the effects of yoga exercises on other parts of human body are still in blank.Given the aforementioned reasons, this paper aims at investigating the influence of yoga on body figure and flexibility quality by adopting yoga to train young women. The subjects were 41 young women (age range 24-29) taken from Qin Yuan Exercise Club in Xi'an. The results were analyzed through documents, questionnaire, experiment (3 times per week, 60 minutes per time, 24 weeks in all) and statistic data analysis. In the exercise, heart rate was used as control index of exercise intensity and the target heart rate was 60%-75% of maximum heart rate. We measured the number of their body figure and flexibility quality before and after the exercises. All data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 and the range of all changes of indexes before and after training was compared. If P> 0.05, there was no significant difference; if P<0.05, there was significant improvement, and if P< 0.01, there was very significant improvement. The results show that 6 months' yoga training has distinctively positive effect on improving young women's shape. First and foremost, as to body shape, thickness of wrinkles on the subjects' subscapularis, upper arms and bellies are significantly reduced (P<0.01) and thickness of wrinkles on thigh was lowered (P<0.05) . Therefore, yoga exercise can effectively reduce the thickness of women's subcutaneous fat. Secondly, the body component measurement indexes exhibit positive changes. The weight and percentage of body fat obviously differ from that before training (P<0.01) while the indexes of thickness weight before and after training have no significant difference. By yoga exercise, the body weight of young women can be improved to a healthy condition. Since the lose in weight is a result of lose in fat contents, the thinness weight is kept constant or even improved in the process of losing weight. This is a scientific fat-reducing method. Thirdly, yoga exercise is efficient in changing women's body circumference. Indexes of waistline and calf circumference before and after training are significantly different (P<0.01) and indexes of hip and calf circumference before and after training are significantly different (P<0.05) . Indexes of circumference before and after training have no significant differences (P<0.01) . This finding shows that yoga exercise can reduce waist, belly and thigh circumferences while retaining circumference and hip circumference. This benign improvement makes young women's bodies exhibit line of beauty. Lastly, indexes of flexibility improve obviously, they differ significantly before and after yoga exercises. This paper is innovative in its analysis of the weight-losing mechanism of yoga in a comprehensive manner based on changes in indexes. Besides, the chosen of flexibility indexes discussed in the paper is all-round as well as scientific.
