The key point of the new curriculum reform is to change substantively the learning methods and advocate methods that are characterized by autonomy, inquiry and cooperation. Through their cooperation, communication and discussion in the team in extending learning after class, excellent students can practice more while the slow ones can get help thus they both grasp a thorough and deeper understanding on the basis of sharing the outcome of collective thinking and accomplish more. The author does some research about the extending learning of high school Chemistry after class in team cooperation. Then, through a period of practice, the author has some conclusions about the model and strategy of the implementing of this method as following:Ⅰ. In the team cooperation in extending learning after class, the role of the teacher should have such characteristics;ⅰ. The teacher gives the team learning tasks, which can be accomplished in diverse ways.ⅱ. The teacher acts as a coordinator to requests adequate communication among teams about their opinions to reach an agreement.ⅲ. The teacher is the commander-in-chief who may not be present except for necessary occasions.Ⅱ. In the extending learning, different methods are adopted to accomplish different kinds of tasks. Knowledge-implementing and problem-solving based learning tasks are accomplished by common study while the vision-expanding based task is accomplished by team inquiry.Ⅲ. The model of extending learning can promote students'construction of knowledge; grasp of the content of the class and books through playing their role actively. The process of discussion and cooperation can deepen their understanding and improve their ability of communicating, co-laboring and expressing.Ⅳ.The introduction of team cooperation into this model contributes a lot to their opinion about communication. Through the cooperation after class, they can promote the cooperation in other subjects, too. Finally, they realize the relationship of cooperation and competition among them are good for their development.Ⅴ. Team cooperation in this model works effectively for improving the quality of learning after class. The homework is changed substantively in time, space, form and content. This changes students'opinion about homework which has lasted for nearly ten years. In this way, the students can jump out from the"sea of homework"and grasp the essence of the knowledge effectively, thoroughly and easilyⅥ. The success of this experiment gives valuable reference to boarding key middle schools in their probe into team cooperation after class.
