In recent years, the teaching materials of music have shown a trend of diversification. With the deepening of education reform, the problems of the music teaching materials have gradually become the concern of Music Education. Since 1980s, in China, in order to conform the development of compulsory education, the music teaching materials of primary and secondary schools have been reformed; and the material-compiling system has changed from the state system to validation system, thus, teaching materials have more books with one general outline. "Music", the textbook for compulsory education in primary and secondary schools in Zhejiang Province, appears in such background. This thesis summaries some certain compiling experience and significance of that time about this textbook, by studying this book and some relevant information, so as to offer some reference and inspiration for further music material-compiling.There are five chapters in this thesis. Chapter One offers an introduction. It introduces certain research background, including the literature review, the definitions of items and research method and ideas. Chapter Two is an overview of the reforming situations of the textbook for compulsory education in primary and secondary schools in Zhejiang Province. It also provides the general compiling situation for the textbook "Music". Chapter Three provides a comparing study, compared the "The music syllabus" with new "The music curriculum standards" on the basis of the textbook compiling reference "Music Teaching Instruction". It aims at the conclusion of the philosophy and intention of this textbook. Chapter Four provides the summarizing of the characteristics of this textbook, from the structure, contents and presentation of this textbook. Chapter Five serves as the conclusion and evaluation of this thesis. Through the survey of the front-line teachers and students, the writer concludes their views for this textbook. It presents that this textbook focus on the practical activities of music, which is the important experience of this textbook. All of these have instructive significance for the music teaching. In addition, the writer of this thesis illustrates out some problems occurring in current music teaching, and points out some suggestion from the teaching material view, such as "Concerned about the music body, the return of music ontology for educational purposes", "Measures to increase the flow of materials" and so on, which intends to do a little contribution to the construction of the music teaching materials.
