Jijiupian written by Shi You is a textbook for teaching children, which was used for up to 600years. Among the well preserved pupil's books, Jijiupian is the earliest produced one. A children's literacy textbook has been completely preserved for more than two thousand years, which is a wonder at the history of education. Thus, the research of this very book is of great significance. This paper, using the method of microscopic and macroscopic unifies, by content analysis, attempts to restore the time of true society of the Western Han Dynasty to some extent; This article try to sum up the special characters of the book Jijiupian, to explore the essential elements of the best books of enlightenment. This paper is divided into three parts:Part I: Jijiupian and the society thought the Western Han Dynasty. This part through the analysis of "names and surnames", "clothing and daily necessities", "academy and law" in Jijiupian explores the social thought of the Western Han Dynasty. From the three elements, we clearly see the coexistence of the thought of Huang-lao , Legalists idea, and Confucian thought in the Western Han society, which proves that the thought of Huang-lao and Legalists idea have not been disappeared with the implementation of "overwhelming Confucianism".Part II: Jijiupian and the social life of the Western Han Dynasty. This part through the analysis of "surnames", "clothing and daily necessities" in Jijiupian explores the living conditions of the Western Han Dynasty. From "surnames", we can see the most prominent family names, the most important clans of the Western Han Dynasty. In "clothing and daily necessities" we see the society's material production, people's basic necessities, and we also feel the trace of luxury in the Western Han Dynasty.Part III: Jijiupian's characteristics as a textbook of enlightenment. As a textbook of enlightenment, in terms of ideology, Jijiupian is in line with the ruling class' requirements of politics and morality for their own successors; in content, Jijiupian has a broad range of knowledge, including the social life necessary for the basic vocabulary; with regard to the form Jijiupian is of a short sentence and tidy rhymes.The innovation points of this paper, mainly research Jijiupian in the backdrop of the Western Han Dynasty, and put Jijiupian and the social thought, social life of the Western Han Dynasty in contrast in order to restore the original appearance of the Western Han society to a certain extent: through the analysis of "names and surnames", "clothing and daily necessities", "academy and law" in Jijiupian I have proved that the thought of Huang-lao and Legalists idea have not been disappeared with the implementation of "overwhelming Confucianism"; by analyzing "clothing and daily necessities", I have discovered people's basic necessities, and proved the existence of luxury culture in the Western Han Dynasty.
