Improvement Of The Traditional High School Physics Experiment Teaching Methods

During the process of our national fundamental education reform, the Common Reform of Common Senior High School in our country is an important part of it. In April ,2003, the Educational Department of China issued National Curriculum Reform Standards for Common Senior High School (experimental ) , in which contains 15 different courses criteria . According to the New Physics Curriculum Standard of Common Senior High School, the experimental teaching is an important part in physics .The experimental teaching is the new curriculum physics teaching basic request. Only by enhancing experimental teaching, can students achieve their goals from hands-on experience and also change the traditional way of learning physics mainly through knowledge delivery and experiment neglecting. On the other hand, in recent years, the high entrance examination papers have highlighted the experiments, which test students' ability of using the knowledge learned to complete a new experiment by recomposing different equipment and adopting methods. The examining points are as followings: the use of experiment instrument and how to read the scales; the understanding of the theory; the designing and the steps of an experiment and the way of dealing with statistics. To conclude, stressing experiments and improving ways of them has become an essential requirement of physics teaching.Following the rules mentioned above and also following the rules of benefiting the students' development, I have designed the teaching plan according to the target senior grade one students to improve the experiment teaching and better my teaching practice.1. I have sorted out the disadvantages of traditional experiment teaching by analyzing the current teaching methods along with my personal experience.2. I have put forward a better design through my personal classroom teaching practice or others' better approaches by reading or consulting some related articles .3.I have brought out a proposal about how to combine my daily teaching with the requirements of the high entrance examination.4.I have put the new ideas into practice and collected some suggestions publicly from the target students.To sum up, I have formed my personal ways of bettering physics experiment teaching for senior grades. That is, make full use of the traditional physics experiments, better the traditional experiments by applying the advanced experiment equipment (such as DIS experiment instruments) and technology ( IT) ,advocate hands-on experiments by using materials at hand, and add more experiments in class to make students interested in studies and therefore to improve their ability.
