Student Career Guidance

College graduates are valuable resources of our country, but now they have to face the severe employment situation. It is believed in this paper that the current style of unemployment of university graduates can be categorized as frictional unemployment, voluntary unemployment and involuntary unemployment. That's why new requirements have been provided to the employment guidance to solve these three types of unemployment. As a late comer, employment guidance in our country is relatively weak in theoretical research as well as empirical studies. Nowadays the majority of scholars have been studying the employment guidance issue from viewpoint of psychology, pedagogics, ideological and political science. Besides, summarized working experience of specialized counselors is also common in the related field. As it is believed that career guidance is aimed to alleviate the employment problem, this paper put emphasis on theoretical significance and practical outcome of solving employment issues from the point of employment guidance. The paper analyzes the significance of employment guidance and demonstrates logically that career guidance is helpful to alleviate three types of unemployment with economical theory of employment. Based on literature research and theoretical analysis, this paper demonstrates the effect of employment counseling for undergraduate students through empirical research, and provides suggestions and advices on how to improve the current employment guidance and counseling.
