In recent years, the Ministry of Education furthered its reform of history education in senior high school, and proposed new demands in basic concept, target system, teaching pattern and evaluation method. To promote the basic demands of new curriculum in senior high school history education, the new history syllabus must be fully practiced, and the level of senior high school history teaching should be improved.A few issues are found in my investigation of history teaching in the high schools of Jinan. They are the ignorance of students'subjectivity, the poor class interaction, the abesence of humanism, and the inadequate use of multi-media equipment.The thesis aims to interpret the new history syllabus, to study senior high school students' learning status, to analyze the major issues in current history teaching, to learn from the successful experience from CCTV Lecture Room, and to summarize teaching and learning skills, which will prove to be of great importance to the high school history curriculum reform.The thesis falls into 4 parts: Part 1 is an interpretation of History Curriculum Standards for Senior High School; Part 2 is an investigation and analysis of current history teaching in the high schools of Jinan; Part 3 is an attempt to find out the successful experience of CCTV Lecture Room; Part 4 deals with the illumination of CCTV Lecture Room on senior high school history teaching.
