With the continuous push of educational reform, people pay more and more attention to making mathematics back to life. Currently, it is the common phenomenon for the students in vocational schools that the foundation of mathematics remains weak; the interest in the study of mathematics is decreasing; the dislike in the study of mathematics is increasing; the concept of mathematics is one-sided, etc. The basic reason for these phenomena is that students lose their interests in the study of mathematics."Teaching mathematics in life"can play a remarkable role in inspiring students'interests, enhancing students'awareness of mathematics application, helping students build up a accurate view of mathematics.The author combines the theoretical research and the empirical research in this thesis. The author looks the theories such as Pestalozzi's"life education"principle, Spenser's"life preparation", Dewey's"Education is Life"theory, the Tao Xingzhi's"Life is education"theory, Curriculum Standard for Mathematics, as the theoretical basis for this study. Based on the theoretical researches, the author brings forward three principles on"Teaching mathematics in life"by integrating her own teaching practice: interesting principle, practical principle, and subjective principle, which are illustrated in detail. Then, the author concludes that"Teaching mathematics in life"plays an important role in three aspects: inspiring the students'study motivation, enhancing the students'application awareness, helping the students build up proper and accurate view of mathematics. Furthermore, the author collects typical cases and comments on them. Finally, supported by some micro experiments, the author tests and verifies the conclusion:"Teaching mathematics in life"not only inspires the students'study motivation, but also enhances the students'application awareness. It helps the students build up proper and accurate view of mathematics and improve the students'academic performance.
