The marking of primary school pupils'assignments is a step that cannot be ignored in teaching, for it not only carries the feedback of assignment quality but also offers a way for communicating between teachers and students as well as an important channel of moral education to pupils. In the primary schools, however, under the influence of exam-oriented education and other factors, teachers are in favor of "education of knowledge" but ignored the education of morals in pupils'assignment marking, which leads to the moral deficiencies in the correcting.The moral deficiencies of marking of pupils'assignments mainly refer to the teachers' unawareness of moral education while correcting. Therefore, teachers do not optimize the marking in line with educating students, and students cannot be motivated, guided and enlightened to think, and gain a better understanding of themselves, improve their thinking and perfect character to play advantage. The marking with moral deficiencies does bad to the development of positive thinking, cultivating good habits as well as developing correct attitudes toward life, the whole world and values of the pupils who are at a key stage of growth and development. What's more, the kind of correcting cannot display the intrinsic meaning and guiding of correcting.After a study in The First Primary School of Xuchang City, Xuchang City Experimental Primary School, The First Primary School of Xinmi City, Experimental Primary School of Yanling County, and Central Primary School of Baliang Town etc., the data about the assignments marking in these schools are then analyzed and the observations are the following: marking lasting too long, remarking being too short, more marking with less instruction, rebuking while not encouraging, teachers acting as authorities without solicitude for the pupils. The factors contributing to this phenomenon are mainly:the exam-oriented education is still affecting teaching; the teachers misunderstand the nature of correcting; the students take the correcting lightly; parents of pupils ignore the marking; there is a deficiency in moral education in governing in schools.To promote the moral education in marking the pupils'assignments, the teachers should, according to educational theory, constructivist learning theory, and multiple intelligence theory, adjust themselves in the attitudes, contents, forms and environment of correcting to manifest the effect of pupils'assignment marking.In marking attitude, the teachers training system should be perfected, and more attention should be paid to the intrinsic guide of correcting; in marking contents, teachers should correct assignments not only with colorful symbols but also various remarks; in marking forms, teachers should try to take the whole right-style marking, zero-correcting, as well as teacher marking and students correcting; in marking environment, a more humanistic marking system, more angles of marking, and commenting on a regular basis persistence should be pursued.
