Mathematical reading is a psychological and intelligent process of getting meaning from written mathematical language, combating the psychology activities like perceiving and reading the linguistic symbol (like words, mathematical symbols, lang., expressions, charts and so on), assimilating and acclimating the new concept and understanding, remembering the reading materials with conceptual works like analyzing, synthesizing and reasoning.Middle school leaning is an important part in the students'leaning life, but inefficient and no effective reading exists in the common middle school students leaning process, which affects their reading effect. Having known this, we teachers can take some proper teaching tactics to lead the students get to know the importance of effective mathematical reading. This thesis focuses on these questions:Firstly, it analyzes the basic theory of reading and mathematical reading and gives the exact definition to the"Effective mathematical reading". Effective mathematical reading is an active and inquiring reading that can get over the limit of the passive reading. It asks for the scientific reading method, especially emphasizes the abstracting, summarizing, combating, summing up and surmising the reading materials actively by inspiring themselves.Secondly, based on analyzing the theories and investigating the students'reading status at present, it includes the performances of the inefficient mathematical reading, and sums up the reasons. It can be concluded as follows:1. Being lack of interest in mathematical reading. The mathematics teaching materials is highly generalized and logical makes the students feel fearful and boring; the students are lack of stable learning interest.2. Being lack of enough skills leads the inefficient mathematical reading. The students can not tell the basic property of the mathematical concept. Can not understand the mathematic words accurately and have troubles with the transformation of the tree mathematical linguistics.3. Being lack of good reading habit and correct leading. The teachers at front-line are lack of theories and can not give the students systemic and feasible methods. The students get little leading and education from the teachers and most students lack of good reading habit.Lastly, combining with the teaching experiences, it discusses the effective measures in teaching mathematical reading at middle school to fix the problems like ineffective reading.1. Start from developing the students'mathematical language following in proper sequence. The teachers should more practice on transforming between the languages to make the reading usualness.2. Start from guide the students reading the teaching materials and give them leading and practicing. The teachers should guide the students pay more attention to the important concept, established theory and examples and give them examples by themselves'actions.3. Combine the reading at class and out class. Reading makes the students know the mathematics is widely used in modern life and they can feel the deep meaning of the mathematical cultural, by which makes the students acquire the knowledge and broaden their outlook.4. Make the use of the reading method flexible and take exercise on both reading and thinking. Mathematical reading ability has a close relationship with mathematical thinking ability. So the teachers should guide the students under the process of the mathematical thinking.And this thesis raises some teaching measures on the questions above:1. Inspiring the reading interest. Asking some questions to inspire the interest and let them enjoy the process of reading2. Rising the habit of preparing lessons before class. Give the different requirement to different students by their studying conditions; preparing lessons carefully to lead the students;3. Leading the students choose the scientific reading methods. Teachers choose the right time for reading according to the students'ages and learning abilities, and let the students do themselves, guide them build their knowledge structures and improve their reading ability. They can also give them different missions at different classes. In extracurricular reading, the teachers should pay attention to the teaching materials and exercises. At the same times they will give them proper extracurricular materials to get more mathematical information to increase the interest and improve the ability. In the aspect of evaluation, more encouragement should be used. Their task could be evaluated in preparing lessons before class, discussing at class and extracurricular reading. Encouraging can make them more actively and curious to learn.
