Reading is an important activity in human social life. It is an important way for people to earn knowledge and cognize the world. It is the process to obtain information from the written material and impact on readers. It is an effective mode to train the students to independently choose, acquire, use knowledge and develop capability.In "educational dictionary", it is thought that reading is a psychological process to gain signification from a written material (text symbols formulae charts), and also is a basic intellectual skill. It is a prerequisite for successful learning, and it is a summation constituted by a series of process and action. In fact, reading is also a strategy, including the establishment of objectives choosing strategy controlling process. In short, reading is both an intellectual skill and also a meta-cognitive activity.Mathematical reading is a psychological activity process to gain signification from the written language of mathematics, and it is also a summation constituted by a series of psychological activities (including apperception, understanding, memory and etc) as well as thinking activities (including analysis, synthesis, reasoning, judgment, conclusion, illation and etc).Mathematical reading ability is a summation of complex psychological characteristics to successfully complete the task of mathematics reading. It Includes: (1)to recur the learned mathematical concepts issues symbols methods and proofs in a new reading scene;(2)to analyze and combine the mathematical expression in a new reading scene;(3)to understand and recall the newly-learned mathematical concepts, issues, symbols, methods and proofs;(4)to combine the existing knowledge structure with the newly-learned knowledge.The teaching of mathematical reading is the learning activity of reading in mathematics. It is the teaching process, which is to coach the students to read mathematical textbooks and mathematical reference books, to train the students' reading capabilities of mathematical materials, and also to lead the students to learn actively.This article will research on mathematical reading and the training of mathematicalreading ability, It will mainly explore the psychological mechanisms of mathematical reading, mathematical reading strategies, the levels and the training methods of mathematical reading ability.
