With the rapidly development of fabrication technology in integrated circuits,system-on-chip has become reality. But system-on-chip also brings us some challenges;one of the challenges is how to verify a system-on-a-chip. Verification has become the bottleneck in the integrated circuits and consumes about 70 percent in the whole chip design,what's more, with the standardization of the intellectual property, this trend is up, and so something must be done to alleviate the trend. In the design of system-on-a-chip, the number of the intellectual property reuse-based has become more and more. How to verify the intellectual roperty and the whole system-on-a-chip rapidly is becoming focus in the system-on -chip verification. According to the delevelopment of IC verification is more and more important for enginer to make the chip work in right founction.USB OTG, the technique developed in recent years, realizes data communication between USB devices. It mainly applies to connection and data exchange between all kinds of devices or mobile devices, especially PDA, mobile phone and consumption electronical devices. It not only conveniences the direct connection between the devices including digital camera, vidicon, printer and so on。Discussed with USB OTG IP core, we researched the virification skill of tne chip, and the methodology assoicated. In this text , we introduce the design of the IP core, and the protocol of USB2.0 and OTG, which is the foundation of theory of the design. We introduce the UTMI and ULPI protocol for more detail as it is close connected with the virification work in our item. We discussed the virification theory and methodology in the following text. And then, we introduce the flat roof of virification of the USB OTG IP core based on the ULPI PHY emphatically. In this plat roof, the plat roof is consist of DUT and virification bus fanction mode, the IP core act as the part of DUT, and besides the two flanks of the DUT are the ARM BFM and ULPI interface BFM. The verification plat roof is consist of the following structure, the gather of task consist the utility wrap, and the utility wrap consist the testcase. And then, we introduced the course of the verification of IP core by one of the testcase which is comprehensive relatively, and relevent analyse of result.
