.6 Sigma Solectron Quality Management Applications

This thesis is one of the "Quality Improvement" projects that were conducted during the implementation of "Six-Sigma Mgt" in the company. As one of the very improvement quality improvement initiatives, it is dissertated with detail that how to improve the company' s quality and optimize the process using Six-Sigma methodology and tools. This thesis consists 5 chapters. In Chapter 1 firstly the theory of Six-Sigma and Six-Sigma roadmap is introduced as well as how calculating the value of Sigma. Then introduces the background of the project and how this thesis comes. In chapter 2, the specialty and value of Six Sigma Management are described with detail, Then comes the comparison of Six-Sigma and TQM (Total Quality Management). Finally the 5 steps of Six-Sigma implementing is introduced and described with detail. In Chapter 3, the specific project "First Test Yield Improvement" is presented as the sample. Chapter 4 summarizes the whole project and thesis by comparing 6Sigma methodology and traditional improvement methodology.Based on the detailed dissertation of Six-Sigma methodology, the detailed processes and steps of implementing Six-Sigma is introduced in this thesis. A sample project is presented as well for better understanding of the Six-Sigma methodology. This project was conducted successfully and finally exceeded the target. As the showcase this thesis and project shows how to conduct quality improvement in the company using Six-Sigma concept.
