Six Sigma concept was originated in the 1980'in Motorola, its meaning has gradually developed from a statistical term to a methodology of problem solving. With the deeper application in GE, Six Sigma has been further developed into a comprehensive and flexible system for achieving, sustaining and maximizing business success. Six Sigma is uniquely driven by close understanding of customer needs, and diligent attention to managing, improving, and reinventing business process. It also enhanced the company core competences and became one of the business strategies. The successful application of Six Sigma in various industries around the world proved the broad applicability of the Philosophy of Six Sigma Management.After several years of development since establishment, H Company started to face more and more operation issues. The shrinking market and poor quality led to the intensifying competition and performance decline. It became the top urgent issue that how to improve the product quality efficiently in short term to change the operation performance. This thesis describes the definition of Six Sigma Management and its innovation and development history, also lists the comparisons of Six Sigma Management with other management systems such as TQM & Lean. After that, the thesis introduces the business scope of the H Company and the relevant operation problems, analyzes the necessity that H Company introduce Six Sigma to improve the company operation. The third part of the thesis introduces the preparations that H Company has done for introducing Six Sigma. It covers four aspects: Preparation of Top Management Team, Establishment of Management Organization, Objective & Schedule and Selection of Six Sigma Projects. Finally, the thesis illustrates how to implement DMAIC approach in product quality improvement to prove the practicability and validity of Six Sigma Management by using the real case of SMT quality improvement of H's mobile phone main board.Through the study on how H Company implement Six Sigma Management and the application case study of product quality improvement, the article makes preparations for the widely and deeply applications of Six Sigma Management in the firm. Meanwhile, the study also can be a reference of how to inmplement Six Sigma Management in a small EMS enterprise.
