With the rapid development of global economy and information technology, there comes the new era of global international M&A. However, the intangible assets—the corporate culture is seldom seriously considered. It is believed by many of the managers that the corporate culture will be harmonized, as long as the assets, the liabilities and the products are consolidated. People intend to neglect the importance of culture before the acquired corporation witness the failure. In fact, culture plays an important role in international M&A. Therefore, it is worthy of making research on how culture works in international M&A.The article illustrates the concepts and features of multinational acquisitions, corporate culture and cross-cultural consolidation, introduces the origin of cross-cultural management, and analyzes the function and importance of cross-cultural consolidation.Finally, the article takes three multinational M&A cases as the researching objects, analyzes the conflict of national culture and corporate culture among different regions and explores the model of cross-cultural consolidation from the view of acquisition, merger, expansion of the corporations.
