Analysis Of Sustainable Economic Development Of The Yangtze River Delta Park

Development Zone, a popular-used policy tool for regional development, has made excessive impact on world's regional economic growth. In the past 20 years, the development zones in the Yangtze Delta, as one window of China's opening up to the outside world, greatly contribute to regional economic growth and social development by absorbing foreign investment and developing oversea-oriented economy. The overall international competitiveness of the Yangtze Delta has also been greatly improved.However, along with the economic growth, some problems of the Yangtze Delta development zones gradually appeared: Extensive development leads to fierce conflict with regional resources and environment; Local governments still play operator roles in the management of development zones; Capital outflow has occurred in some development zones due to the rising price of land and labor; Industrial cluster remains the beginner level in most development parks. Especially, the preferential policy barrier of development zones will gradually be removed after China's admission into WTO. It will be an important task for the Yangtze Delta's future to achieve those parks' sustainable development under the guidance of sustainable development theory.The structure of this paper is as follows : Chapter one introduces development zones' basic concept, relevant theory and sustainable development theory; Chapter two introduces the Yangtze Delta development zones' establishment background, development phases, geographical layout and economic status, at the same time, makes quantitative analysis of the development park's operation performance and points out their achievement and drawback; Chapter three firstly introduces the phenomenon of the development zones' fever, then analyzes the root of the fever and the importance and necessity of those parks' reform; Chapter four we put forward measures and suggestions to ensure the Yangtze Delta development zones' sustainable growth mainly from five aspects such as establishing sustainable development concept, reforming government management system, changing economic growth mode,...
