Gear chamfering that can control gear noise and reduce heat stress concentration, is an important working procedure of the gear processing. At present, the highly automatic equipments of gear chamfering are mainly for the middle and small gears, whose module is about 10mm and diameter is less than 2000mm, but for the larger module and diameter of gears, are lack of mechanical chamfering devices. Larger gear Chamfering is dependent on manual processing of the worker, using this method, the requirement for the worker is higher, and the quality of chamfering is difficult to be guaranteed consistently. This thesis studies the chamfering process and chamfering equipment for the larger gearFirstly, the grinding gear profile principle of quasi trajectory tangent is proposed based on studying of the forming method of workpiece surface and chamfering process, and design quasi trajectory grinding profile machine for larger gear tooth profile based on the theory. According to the function, the quasi trajectory grinding profile machine includes three parts structures: planar five-bar mechanism that is responsible for realizing the motion of quasi trajectory, space articulated mechanism that is responsible for realizing the floating of grinding head and air motor that provides power for grinding wheel.Next, study the kinematics of planar five-bar mechanism, get the expression of forward and inverse kinematics by closed vector method. In addition, by analyzing possible workspace of planar five-bar mechanism and combining the actual workspace of grinding profile machine application object, determine its structural parameters. By specific example, position inverse and continuous trajectory inverse are verified. Solid modeling and kinematics simulation is applied to quasi trajectory grinding profile machine using Pro/E and ADAMS. By simulation in ADAMS, study the relationship between input and output of the machine, resulting in visualization of simple movement for the machine, then inverse kinematics solution is verified.Finally, design semi-closed loop control system of the machine based on upper control scheme of PC and MAC-3002SSP4 motion control card, include buildimg of the hardware and development of the software based on VC++6.0. Finally, the feasible of quasi trajectory motion of the machine was verified by experiment.
