Research On The Problems And Countermeasures Of Low Carbon City In Chongqing

With running away with fossil fuels, the process of industrialization and urbanization caused global warming and ecological environment being destroyed. For sustainable development, human must go the way of low carbon development. China' carbon emission mainly concentrated in cities where gathered population, industry, traffic and construction, so low carbon development should implement the construction of low carbon city. Among pilot cities in china, Chongqing took the lead in development of low carbon city. Under making great efforts to curb emissions of greenhouse gases in the future, keeping economy development steadily in Chongqing is a severe challenge as well as an important opportunity. Based on forefather study and construction of low carbon city in Chongqing, this dissertation mainly researched several parts as follows:The first part, what is the low carbon city and the significance of construction of low carbon city. Based on forefather study, it researched these ways of low carbon city: defined the concept and content, covered the essence and characters, expounded the significance.The second part, it researched the journey and trend of construction of low carbon city in Chongqing. This part mainly divided three periods:the primitive period, the embryo period and the pilot period. It summarized and analysed the evolution of city construction in Chongqing in different times from these ways:guiding line, industrial structure, economic construction and urbanization with Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) and decoupling theory. At last it judged the trend accurately of low carbon city construction in Chongqing. The third part, it analysed the problems of low carbon city construction in Chongqing. Based on concept and content of low carbon city, this part analysed the problems with qualitative analysis so that probed into the main questions and inner reasons to provide actual basis for setting down specific policies.The fourth part, low carbon city construction in foreign countries gave us experiences and inspiration. From the angle of system, it summarized and analyzed the common advanced experiences in low carbon city construction as references of low carbon city construction in Chongqing.The last part, it came up with thoughts and strategies of constructing low carbon city in Chongqing through synthesizing various fruits above four parts.
