In recent years, the development of tire manufacturing industry is rapid. As the core equipment of tire building-Tire Building Machine, its automation level is one of main influencing factors about restricting the production efficiency of tire. On account of the stitching process of carcass ply in building tire, the contents of the paper is studying on stitching carcass ply and designing the auto-stitching equipment of carcass ply. It will improve the automation level of this process. Referring to some papers about the stitching process domestic and abroad, our paper holds out the design project of the auto-stitching equipment of carcass after analyzing and referring them.First of all, the paper studies on the structure of carcass ply and main influencing factors of affecting its quantity. Then it analyzes the self-adhesion and main influencing factors of the self-adhesion. It obtains that changing the process conditions (temperature and pressure) can achieve automatically stitching carcass ply. The design idea is this. Secondly, build the mathematical model of carcass ply compound, do the force analysis of this model and get the force of the self-adhesion. Then by the thermal analysis modular of Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5.0, do the analysis about the stitching roller. The result is that we get the steady-state temperature distribution of the roller. After the force and thermal analysis, we get some parameters for designing the equipment. Using them, we do the system design of the auto-stitching equipment of carcass ply. Then briefly explain the stitching wheel, horizontally moving device and vertically moving device. In the third, build the 3D part models of the auto-stitching equipment of carcass ply and assembly them by Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5.0. Then do the motion simulation of the equipment and create the video files. These video files can clearly reappear the motion of the movement of the auto-stitching equipment of carcass ply. In the last, do the simulation experiment about stitching carcass ply. According to experimental comparison, we obtain the optimal temperature of the sections and the pressure of auto-stitching the carcass ply. Then do the correctness verification of the theory analysis, such as the force analysis and thermal analysis.
