Manufacturing informatization is not only a great subject in front of manufacturing enterprises in this century, but also an important measure to implement the integration of information technology and industrialization of China. System integration issues of PDM and ERP generally occure during the process of informatization. Due to its dual characteristics of technology and business, Bill of Materials (BOM) has become the key factor to information integration of PDM and ERP. So it is an important way to achieve the goal of information integration through BOM transformation.The research contents of this thesis center on transformation from engineering BOM to manufacturing BOM. Current enterprise application and scientific research achievements on BOM transformation are summarized. Basic solving strategies on BOM transformation are studied throngh root cause analysis, and BOM transformation method based on process management is proposed. The method constructs progressive definition enable tools and automatic stategies supported by process management environment, embodying the idea that manufacturing BOM is defined progressively. Corresponding technical framework is divided into three layers. The bottom is process management layer, providing PDM-based process data management and process workflow management. The second is enable tools layer, providing BOM transformation automatic algorithm. The third is function modules layer, providing BOM transformation operation modules.Based on the above work, automatic enable tools for BOM transformation are built, and related reuse technology is studied. Seven tools for structure transformation and two sources for node features are desicribed in the form of descrete mathematics, and the applications of correlation principle and similarity principle in BOM transformation are deeply researched. Correlation principle means mutual definition between material properties and structure transformation; similarity principle means similar design structures of high inheritance have similar transformation process. Two BOM transformation strategies, which are respectively based on samples learning method and assembly process planning, are proposed to integrate various transformation tools.Then PDM-based process management system is built to support progressive definition of MBOM. Structured process data management is provided, to make sure structure and properties can be extracted automatically. And BOM transformation process management is provided, to make sure MBOM is correctness and completeness. Then MBOM definition privilege management is provided, to make sure MBOM definition is controllable.Finally BOM transformation technology based on process management is applied to X-ray machine of an electromechanical enterprise.
