Intersection, working as a transferring node of multiple traffic flows in different directions, has a high probability of accident, which affects the traffic safety and capacity. In this paper, based on traffic conflict techniques(TCT),we study the vehicle conflicts in intersection and evaluate the traffic safety status according to the conflict quantitative index deduced in this paper, then give a score to the intersection safety.In this paper, by analyzing the port traffic characteristics, a port intersection traffic flow simulation Model is established based on traffic conflict technique (TCT).Based on vehicle parameters, braking distance between vehicles is used for the conflict identification and definition. The paper first analyzes the conflict types of intersection, emphasizing on traits of traveling curve of large vehicles and the resulting conflicts. By using improved two-dimensional cellular automaton model, vehicle's acceleration, deceleration and displacement rules are improved, and simulation results present the main conflict types that affect the safety and capacity of port intersection, at last, the validity of the model is verified, the results of which can be used in the next part of intersection safety fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.Then, in the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation part, we design a 2-tier evaluation system, conflict number factor and conflict risk factor, and we got the influencing factor of every conflict factor, that is traffic volume, speed, ratio of heavy vehicles, conflict number, etc. next, we get the membership degree of every influencing factor and set up the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to give the safety score of the intersection concerned.Finally, using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, we give a evaluation to one particular intersection in Tianjin port road network, and give the safety evaluation results analysis.
