Modern tram overcomes the disadvantages such as low capacity, high energy consumption and high pollution. Meanwhile, compared to the other urban railway systems, it has the following features:low cost, short construction period and small curve radius. It's an important way to solve the traffic problems in medium and small cities.Operation Control System (OCS), in charge of safety protection and dispatching, is an indispensable component of modern tram system. At present, research on the OCS of modern tram is still in its infancy. Therefore, it is of great significance to research the OCS of modern tram.In this thesis, the business process of the modern tram system and the functional requirement of the modern tram Centralized Control System (CCS) were analyzed. And then, the design scheme of the CCS was presented, a new strategy for priority allocation was proposed and modern tram operational adjustment algorithm was explored. On this basis, function software of the CCS was developed.Research work in this thesis is focused on the followings:Firstly, business process of modern tram was analyzed, based on it, functional requirements of the CCS were analyzed, and the design of its structure and interface was completed.Secondly, the new concept of virtual station was proposed to describe level crossing. On this basis, modern tram operation plan adjustment model was established. Improved genetic algorithm was used to solve the model.Thirdly, function software of the CCS, which performed the functions such as supervision, automatic arranging routes and priority allocation, was developed.Fourthly, the traffic detector was developed based on ultrasonic detection technology and microcontroller JN5139with Zigbee protocol stack.Finally, the CCS of modern tram was built. Combined with wayside and vehicle operation control subsystems and environment simulation platform, the integrated debugging of the OCS was completed. The results show that the developed system meets the business needs of the CCS.
