With the rapid development of Chinese teaching overseas, there are more and more foreigners becoming interested in Chinese and the need for scientific, practical and customized Chinese textbooks is increasing day by day. Currently there are a plenty of foreign-students-oriented Chinese textbook compiled in the Mainland of China, but few of them are customized according to the different students' different cultural backgrounds. How to compile high-quality foreign-students-oriented textbooks is one of the most important topics for today's Chinese teaching.Based on "Integrated Chinese" compiled by Tao-chung Yao, Yuehua Liu, this article analyses the book's compiling features, discusses the teaching methods, and points out the benefits and limitations of the book. It provides references for compiling more practical and customized Chinese textbooks in the future. |
