Language learning is based on five basic elements, which we usually called them as five“C”s, listed as follow: communication, cultures, connections, comparisons and communities.From this concept (five basic elements of language learning), we can see the foundationalfunctions that cultures bring into play on a second or a foreign language learning. And thetopic of this thesis is discussing “Teaching strategies of Chinese culture in junior and middlelevel Chinese integrated courses”. The essay has four parts which are importance of Chinesecultures learning for using Chinese, what kinds of Chinese cultures are in junior and middlelevel Chinese integrated courses,how to deal with these culture elements, and an example ofChinese culture teaching.The different attitudes toward cultures are carrying weight when you are learning asecond language. By and large, Chinese teacher need to chose something from the culture ofthe language which you are teaching to clinging to for the sake of both you and your studentsneeds a instrumentality to explain and give voice to the thing in your mind. When foreignerscome to China to learn Chinese, they imitate to dress in Chinese clothes and use chopsticks aswe Chinese people do. So, we need to respect, communicate, catch on and be seasoned withthe culture which we are teaching.
