Motivation for Learning is a sort of power that urges learners to carry forward their learning,which plays an extremely important role in learning a second language. Since the 1950s, second language acquisition has caught the attention of an increasing number of scholars. Language learners as the main part of language learning constitute an important aspect in the research of second language learning.This thesis combines theory with practice, referring to the fruits of research both home and abroad on second language learning motivation, and referring to a period of teaching practice at Roiet Rajabhat University in Thailand on the part of the author, who assigned questionnaires to 180 Thai students, and conducted an analysis into the survey data, with a view to inquiring into Thai students'Chinese studying motive.Firstly, this article elaborates on the status quo of research on second language learning motivation, and discusses the concept and classification of learning motivation. Secondly, this article introduces the survey process of Thai students'Chinese learning motivation in detail, concerning the reasons for putting forward Thai students'Chinese learning motivation as subject of research, questionnaire design, the selection of thesurvey samples, research process, the collecting and processing of data, research results and relative analysis, and summarizes the characteristics of Thai students'Chinese learning Motivation. Based on these, the article analyzes and discusses the main factors of Thai students'Chinese learning motivation.Finally, with teaching experience in Thailand as author source of inspiration, she proposed teaching advice on how to stimulate learning motivation of students majored in Chinese. These suggestions mainly cover five aspects, i.e.: knowing students'Chinese level and understanding their psychological, choosing textbooks that suit them, making appropriate teaching methods, utilizing multimedia for teaching, enhancing interaction.
