The data was collectted by the following questionnaires: EBMU which was introduced from abroad and revised,CSQ and SES. And then, the data was analysised through descriptive statistical analysis, multivariate analysis of variance and correlation analysis and regression analysis . The purpose of the study was to discuss the status of the fathers'rearing style , coping style and the level of self-esteem of junior college students, and to explore their relationships. So we can not only provide some data but also references for the studies of self-esteem.The main research results are as follows:1. The coping way from students is relatively positive. Carry on a correlation analysis on the dimensions of the father's rearing style, coping style and self-esteem .The result shows:In correlation analysis in pairs on the dimensions of father's rearing style and coping styles:Father's rearing style's dimensions of understanding and warmth of the emotion and problem-solving dimensions of coping style present a prominently positive correlation; The severe punishment dimensions and preference dimensions in father's rearing style and self-blame, fantasy, avoidance, rationalization in coping style present a prominently positive correlation; The over-interference dimensions in father's rearing style and the various dimensions excepet resolving problems in coping style shows a significantly positive correlation. The dimensions of refusing to deny in father's rearing style and self-blame, fantasies, avoidance, rationalization in coping styles shows a significant positive correlation; The over-protective dimensions in father's rearing style and the various dimensions in coping styles are significantly positive correlated. The dimensions of self-esteem and the warmth and understanding of emotion in father's rearing style present a prominently positive correlation. The dimensions of self-esteem and problem-solving and seeking help in coping style present a prominently positive correlation. The dimensions of self-esteem and self-accusation in coping style present a prominently negative correlation.6. Taking the factors of fathers'rearing style, coping style as independent variables and self-esteem as the dependent variable, we do the stepwise multiple regression analysis. The result shows that problem-solving, self-accusation, seeking help, warmth and understanding of the emotion can jointly predict the variance of self-esteem .202. Problem-solving has the best predictive to self-esteem.7.Fathers'rearing style has a directly impact on self-esteem,meanwhile the influence of fathers'rearing style on self-esteem is partly mediated by coping style.
