Directional Complement has always been one of the most difficult grammatical items in teaching Chinese as a second language; this is because there doesn't exist this kind of grammatical item in many other languages, so there are a lot of errors made by the foreign students when they are studying this grammatical item. Currently, there are researches aimed mainly on how students with their mother language as English, Japanese and Korean study directional complement, researches on how those whose mother language is Russian study Chinese are rare. This paper, based on former researches and accomplishments, applying the method of comparing between Chinese and Russian, tries to find the difficult part the Russian students particularly have trouble in grasping about directional complement, and from this, the paper also tries to make some suggestions about how to teach directional complement better. This paper aims at pushing the research on teaching directional complement more nationalized, and helps improving teaching Russians Chinese as a second language in the field of teaching Chinese as a second language.
