With the coexistence of global economic integration and cultural diversity in the new century, the long standing and colorful Chinese national music is facing severe situation. In recent years, the national music inheritance in school music education has attracted great attention by the whole society. The cultural inheritance value of music course is clearly put forward in"Standards of Music Course in Full-time Compulsory Education"(experimental draft), and"carrying forward the national music"is confirmed as one of the basic ideas in music course. It is stipulated in the fourth part of"development and the utilization of curriculum resources"that"Three-grade curriculum management of nation, locality and school is carried out. Besides the national curriculum, curriculum of independent development by locality and school should occupy a certain proportion. The locality and school should develop music curriculum resource with regional, national and school characteristics combining with local humanistic geographic condition and national cultural tradition."Kazak autonomous prefecture of Yili in Xinjiang province in which the author lives has colorful and unique national music resource. However, the national music education in school music education is under grim circumstance. Drawing inspiration from the present situation, the author puts the research view on the development situation of national music school-based curriculum. According to study on fifteen middle schools directly under Yili, the author probes into the present development situation of national music school-based curriculum and tries to find effective ways and strategies on the basis of case study on successful development of national music school-based curriculum, providing reference for promoting inheritance of national music in school music education.Four parts are illustrated in this paper:The first part is introduction, mainly including four aspects of problem posing, research significance, and research status and research methodology.The second part is research on present situation. By stratified sampling and random sampling, the author probes into the present development of national music school-based curriculum on the basis of fifteen middle schools from city, county and town directly under Yili, finding the problems in curriculum development and reasons of these problems. The third part is case study. Taking Sibo musical school-based curriculum as successful example, the author makes the discussion centering on analysis of school situation, development process of curriculum, implement of the curriculum, development effect, and so forth.The fourth part is strategy research. Based on the theoretical research, present situation investigation, case analysis and successful cases of national music education at home and abroad, the author concludes four strategies to promote the development of national music school-based curriculum, including effective development and use of national music resource, development of hierarchical supporting system of national music school-based curriculum development, pertinent improvement of teachers'educational content, organic combination of music curriculum resources.
