Since carrying out the reform and opening-up in 1986, Vietnam's economy has developed fast, and the economic growth is second only to China in East Asia, so Vietnam is called "new little dragon of Asia". While gaining the devolopment in economy, Vietnam also faces a series of problems like corruption,rising wealth gaps and inefficiency of government. To solve these problems, Vietnam begins to explore ways of reforming of political system.First, this paper introduces the background of the research:while gaining outstanding achievements in economy, various problems are exposed. The necessity of performing political reform is beyond gainsaid. It has been many years since Vietnam has changed the election of members of Congress from indrect into direct in 1992. Vietnam has earned much praise for its achievements, and the number of articles researching on the political reform is large. However, there are little articles using Ho Chi Minh Thought as a guiding thought to study the political reform. Based on the classcial system of Ho Chi Minh Thought, this paper analyses the political reform of Vietnam deeply, and then proves that Ho Chi Minh Thought always guides the political reform of Vietnam.The paper concludes six parts. Part one is introduction, it focus on the background, the significance, and the method of the study. Part two introduces Ho Chi Minh's life and his thought of national administration and construction. Part three introduces and analyses the specific contents of the reforming of political system. Part four proves the effect of Ho Chi Minh Thought on. Part five is using of Ho Chi Minh Thought in the political reform of Vietnam in the New Age.
