There is a system of three types and three degrees in the law education in China. From the viewpoint of educational form, there are general education, research-based education, and applied education. As for three degrees, there are bachelor, master and doctorate. Juris Master (JM) is a new form of law education in China. In terms of its orientation and educational objective, the education of JM by its nature should be a professional education targeted to train applied law talents with master degrees. Thus the educational form should be professionalized. However, the educational form of JM is still not mature though the JM education has been open for more than a dozen of years. And there are several problems in the professionalized education. These problems show that the JM education can not meet the requirement of professionalization. From the perspectives of orientation and implementation, it can be found that this results from low modernization for rule of law, disordered system of law education, and unsound educational system of Juris Master and so on. Therefore, lawmaking should be strengthened; relationship be clarified, idea be changed, to ensure the connection between JM education and law professions, to normalize the system of law education, and innovate the training plan of JM education, thus reinforcing the goal of developing professional talents in the orientation and implementation of JM, making JM the main channel of law education. The paper consists of four parts. In Chapter One, the background and process of establishing JM are introduced to understand the contexts of JM education. Also the detailed analysis to the nature and characteristics lays foundation for deep exploration to problems of JM education. In Chapter Two, based on the actual situation of JM education, problems can be found in the terms of teaching management and employment of JM education and a conclusion has been drawn that the current JM education has not fulfilled its goal, nor has the presupposed professionalized model of education been formed. The effect and quality of JM education is not satisfactory, and there is still some way to go for the current JM education to become professionalized. In Chapter Three, from the perspectives of orientation and implementation of JM education, the reasons for those problems in developing JM talents professionally are discussed and it is found that the virtual reasons lie in the systems of rule of law and law education. In Chapter Four, from the previous discussion, we put forward some methods to improve the JM education, to reinforce the JM's target of developing professionalized talents, then making some progress in a whole.
