Since the reform and opening, migrant workers, especially the first generation of migrant workers is a main part of the new type work force. Being drove by the "push - pull" force, they streaming into metropolitan areas. They have been shut out of the modern cities because of the urban-rural dual system, although they have made great contribution to the development of these big cities. In recent years, the first generation of workers continually mostly went home. Because they are too old to work in the big cities. The new generations who are born after 1980s take their place as an important part of urban work force. This phenomenon now is a hot issue. The modernization of the new generation of peasant-workers is not only a continuation of the old problem ,but also a urging problem which we have to solve as soon as possible. Since it is immediately concerns to urban-rural development the social stability and harmony.Firstly, this paper explains the fundamental conceptions of migrant workers, the new generation of peasant workers, professional transfer and the urbanization. With the investigation data, the author describes characteristics and professional status of this new generation by qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis method. He also analyzes and concludes the basic rules of peasant workers'professional transfer. This paper uses the logistic model to analyze the influence factors of migrant workers'occupational transfer, the intention that they are willing to be a citizens and the actual barrier. Moreover, the paper puts forward the concrete path to citizenship to Cenozoic based on the classification of migrant workers.Through the study, we can get some basic conclusion as follow:(1) The paper takes the new generation of migrant workers in northwest of China as the research object. The migrant workers career classification-career move– urbanization" as could be taken as a historical process of logical graduality. And we get the basic laws of this professional transfer in the background of the deepening marketization reform.(2) Through the questionnaire and documents, make clear the northwest new peasant workers'occupational transfer characteristics and the intend that they want to be urban residents. By using logistic model, we can know that the main impact factors are marital status, education degree gender and job training. (3) According to vocation classification from the national statistics bureau and vocational status average weighted scores, the northwest new migrant workers are classified into three types: individual operators, technical workers and low skill laborer. study different types of three in a new generation of migrant workers, what might take the lead to achieve the transformation.Finally, this paper gives the following suggestion: (1) improve their social positions and laid humanistic care on them; (2) promote reform of census register, land and related supporting system reform, provide good system and environment for their urbanization; (3)improve their own quality and help them engage into urban life; (4) provide training chance to low-skilled laborers, guarantee their living in the city.
