With the innovational evolvement of the preschool education in China, the best choice for the parents is to select a kindergarten with good reputation for their children. English is also getting to be a compulsory course in the kindergartens. However, the development of kindergartens cannot be separated from pre-school education in secondary vocational schools. Therefore, to cultivate an excellent team of qualified preschool teachers is becoming more and more significant. What the English teachers should do is not only to improve students' physical development, but also to cultivate their career ability to teach English in kindergartens.However, as the early learning education has developed rapidly, English teaching at secondary vocational schools under the traditional pattern cannot meet up the needs of the development of students. As a result, students cannot become qualified teachers after their graduation, which makes kindergartens get into a great trouble. Recently, most of the early educational institutes have to employ some English teachers without any professional infant knowledge by the lure of a high salary, but the teaching result is not so ideal. Therefore, facing with the great need of professional preschool English teachers in kindergartens, the English teachers feel it very necessary to reform their English teaching with some new methods instead of the traditional ones in order to evoke the students'interest in English learning.Game teaching method is a kind of teaching mode which uses playing games in classroom teaching. It emphasizes that the students should learn new knowledge voluntarily, but not passively. The games are designed for arousing children's interest to bring high output of language knowledge. The English teachers can also apply games to improve their English teaching effects at secondary vocational schools.Aiming at arousing the students' interest and passion in learning English, on the basis of doing much investigation and analysis in the local kindergartens, the researcher tries to bravely innovate upon the traditional teaching method in order to make the English class really vivid. Considering to the characteristics of vocational courses in the preschool education majors at secondary vocational schools, the researcher designs some games adding in some activities with pianos, drawing, telling stories, sing songs and dancing etc. In the research of putting games into teaching practice, the following three research questions should be answered:1) Compared with the traditional teaching method, what advantages does the game teaching method have?2) How to design and organize the present materials with games to let the students learn practical English?3) What principles should the English teachers adopt to apply game teaching method with vocational courses to achieve the optimal result? The researcher chose 188 students majoring in preschool education in Grade 2009 in Panjin Economy and Technology school as subjects. A questionnaire survey was made before the experiment to investigate the students'interest, motivation, attitude etc. Consequently, the researcher chose two classes randomly to make a comparative analysis. Through the comparison of the final scores between the control group and the experimental group, the researcher found the new method could really improve students'scores. After an interview outline designed by the author for the 30 students in the experimental group, a conclusion was made out that the new game teaching method could not only influence the English learning results, but also stimulate the students' learning interest and enthusiasm, which could made the English classroom teaching full of vitality with a more efficient output.As a result, game teaching method combining with the vocational courses designing can break though the hinder of the traditional one. It can make the English classroom teaching full of vitality, which forms a new kind of English classroom teaching method with distinctive features at secondary vocational schools.In the end of the research, the author draws a conclusion that game teaching method combining with major characteristics is an ideal way to improve the English classroom teaching of preschool education majors at secondary vocational schools and puts forward some suggestions for future teachings and studies.
