With the rapid development of tourism, foreign people coming to China for traveling and business are increasing day by day. As tourism facilities, hotels are receiving more and more foreign people. Therefore, good overall qualities, practical skills, high English proficiency level have become the primary standards of the hotel and tourism employers measuring the talents. Most of the vocational school students who study Hotel Management will work in the star hotels after graduation. They will host guests from all over the world. So, professional English level is directly related to their employment status and service quality. However, the current situation of English teaching of the vocational school is:the study of the students is weak, they usually lack the real environment to use English, the activities in language practice is very limited, many students lack interest in learning English, and professional English is more of a headache. In order to make the students pass skill identification, the teacher only let the students practice all the time. This dull and boring form adds to fear for students in learning hotel English. Therefore, how to play students'consciousness, stimulate their interest in learning and change from passive to active learning is what the Hotel English teaching must resolve.I believe that respect for the objective laws of physical and mental development and cognitive level of knowledge of the vocational high school students, meeting the psychological needs of students' curiosity and questioning in hotel English learning,guiding students to master a number of scientific and effective methods of learning, creating a variety of teaching situations. Through lots of experiments, I summarized the classification and basic link of Situational Approach for Hotel English Teaching in Vocational High School. The classification:1. creating the scenes of material object 2. Creating the scenes of life 3. Creating the scenes of Multimedia.4. creating the scenes of performance 5. creating the scenes of question Situation. The basic link:1. Selection of Teaching Materials 2. Creating scenes and wanning up 3. Implementing situational approach in Class 4. Practice after class.
