Research On Coping Work Of College Students' Individuality Emergency Events

Since the reform and opening up, China's higher education has received rapid development. However, as there are still many flaws in the management system and some problems in university students themselves, university students' individuality emergencies occur occasionally.Up to now, China has not yet carried out a perfect coping system of university students' individuality emergencies in theoretical. And the relative researches are stuck at the primary stages. Judging from the managing experience of university students' individuality emergencies in home and abroad, the coping work of individuality emergencies requests the integration of risk management theory and crisis management theory. Besides, the students'mental health is also a crucial factor.This paper, guided with risk management theory and crisis management theory, analyses the typical cases of university students'individuality emergencies, so as to generalize the implication, characteristics and incentives of university students'individuality emergencies. On this basis, the paper tries to discuss the coping work of university students'individuality emergencies in theory, and then indicates that the colleges and universities should make prevention, take urgent measures and carry out recovery management of the emergencies so as to preserve the students' healthy development and the harmony and stability of colleges and universities. The three stages: prevention, urgent measures and recovery management are the integral stages of the coping work of university students'individuality emergencies, in which the preparation stage serves as the key stage, and taking urgent measures works as a crucial stage and recovery is the difficulty stage. There are seven parts in this paper.The first part is literature review. It introduces scholars'researches both at home and abroad about university students'individuality emergencies. Foreign scholars make case studies on the university emergency events, and study the crisis and potential risk of the university students' individuality emergency. Western countries have form a scientific and systematic management system of university students' individuality emergencies. Both of the theoretical direction and operation has certain development. However, relative researches and studies in China about university students'individuality emergencies are superficial and not enough.The second part discusses about the implication, characteristics and incentives of university students'individuality emergencies. On this basis, this part makes a primary theoretical discussion on the coping work of university students'individuality emergencies from five perspectives:human factors management theory, energy destructive release theory, many causality theory, system safety theory and crisis management theory.The third part is about cases studies. By analyzing the campus car accident in He Bei University, the events of Ma Jiajue, and the missing case of a college male student, the paper explains the accident processes, the happening reason, the dealing process in detail and evaluates on the urgent measures, the results and the effects.The forth part is about the reasons of the university students'individuality emergencies. There are mainly four reasons that may lead to the emergencies:the influences from society, the flaws of university management, influence from family and the problems of university students themselves.The fifth part focuses on the prevention stage of university students'individuality emergencies. In this stage, firstly, training should be carried out on dealing with emergencies, students'crisis consciousness should be strengthened, and students'stress tolerance ability should be enhanced Secondly, colleges and universities should set up the security regulations, stress on internal administrative control, carry out campus safety supervisor in order to create a safe campus. Thirdly, information feedback mechanism, the level three monitoring mechanism, students' electronic records and files should be built to create the prevention mechanism. Fourthly, emphasizing on the roles of instructors and students'organizations to strengthen the development of management.The sixth part focuses on the urgent measures in coping work for university students' individuality emergencies. Firstly, information collection and resolution system should be built. Secondly, events defining, objective setting, scheme designing and selecting should be completed to build the decision making system. Thirdly, information assurance, systematic management of emergency and material support should be strengthened to optimize the support system. Fourthly, the role of efficient publicity system can not be overlooked.The seventh part focuses on the recovery management stage of university students' individuality emergencies. Firstly, the paper evaluates the events by analyzing and assessing the individuality emergencies and making conclusion of the experiences. Secondly, afterwards prevention should be done by making out the recovery plan of the school order and making centering resolutions for the key person. Thirdly, crisis public relations' premise, transparency, and effectiveness should be realized to make a better communication with outside, rebuild the university image and improve the coping level of university students'individuality emergencies.
