As the top level education of China's higher education system, postgraduate education is to basically cultivate high-quality talents at higher level for our socialism modernization. It has been found that the high-quality talent should possess two qualities:humanistic quality and scientific quality. Among them, humanistic quality is the essence which focuses on the noble morality and devoted behavior in human society, while scientific quality is what we need to deal with practical matters. Neither humanistic quality nor scientific quality can be set apart from each other. Therefore, in the process of postgraduate education, attention is not only paid to professional knowledge, skills and scientific research, but also to humanistic quality, especially humanistic spirit, so that high-quality talents for the construction of a socialist harmonious society can be made.This paper, in the first place, deals with some basic theories of humanistic education, such as humanistic meanings, humanistic quality education, as well as its implication, etc.. Furthermore, it analyses the significances of reinforcing the humanistic education. First, it helps to perfect the knowledge structure; second, it helps to achieve the goals of cultivating "the Four Talents"; third, it serves as a resort to adapt to the needs of the scientific and educational development; finally, it makes active responses to the international talent competition, and the demands for building a socialist harmonious society.In the second place, on the basis of the survey of humanistic quality among the students by the questionnaire in several colleges in major cities, such as Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Luoyang, Jiaozuo, Xinyang in Henan province, the paper make full use of qualitative and quantitative analysis, which lies in the six aspects, such as the level of perception of humanity and geography in Henan, the evaluation of humanistic education in the college, the evaluation of the interviewee's own humanistic quality, the self-awareness of strengthening individual's humanistic quality, the requirements for promoting humanistic education; and the accepted methods by postgraduates in the promoting humanistic education. Through the analysis of this survey, this paper points out five major problems, the colleges don't pay much attention to humanistic education, the postgraduates are lack of humanistic knowledge, some of the graduates do not have solid political beliefs and their values are materialized, the postgraduates'moral sense and aesthetic sense should be improved, the graduates are lack of research and innovation abilities.Finally, taking the existing problems of postgraduate humanistic education and its causes into account, this paper puts forward 6 suggestions according to the unique features of humanistic environment in Henan province to solve these problems, namely, to take full advantage of the rich cultural resources in Henan to carry out humanistic education, to develop and improve the system of postgraduate humanistic education at colleges, to improve the cognitive abilities of self-education of postgraduates, to broaden the range of cultural activities of colleges in order to set up a good cultural environment on campus, to achieve effective combination of scientific quality oriented education and humanistic quality oriented education, and to carry out social practice so as to improve postgraduates'abilities of cultural innovation. The author proposes that the improvement of postgraduate humanistic education in Henan province get as much help as possible from the survey and analysis in this paper.
