Middle School Geography Teaching Research And Application Of Google Earth

With the implementation of the new wave of high school curriculum, the development of computer technology and widespread application of GIS technology in many fields, either on the settings of course content or as a new teaching aids, geographic information technology should be applied into high school geography teaching. There are many problems in the professional GIS software merging into geography class such as software, hardware, operation, training and so on. While as a simple and popular GIS software, Google Earth was concerned by lots of domestic and foreign educators geography education, at the same time, American geography education shows Google Earth has significant effect in assisting high school geography teaching.Based on the literature research and practical teaching experience, through contrasting deficiencies of professional GIS software, traditional teaching methods and superiority of Google Earth, this article analyzes the feasibility of Google Earth entering high school geography teaching. In addition to feasibility, but also discusses what it can produce the teaching effects, and combining concrete examples in high school geography teaching explains Google Earth's part functions. Meanwhile, in chapter 5 combining with《The geographical information technology in regional geography research application》, it demonstrates the specific application of Google Earth in the geography teaching.In order to examine the effects of Google Earth's application in high school geography teaching, the author designs questionnaire for students and teachers on Google Earth's implementation, statistical results show that Google Earth can assist high school geography teaching well, but there are also some problems, through discussing these, the author hopes these can be great avail for reference and enlightenment in the middle school geography curriculum reform.
