With the development of the times, the concept of collaborative teaching is getting more and more attention from the public. Especially after the curriculum reform, the voice that calls for changing teacher's work style and encouraging communication and collaboration between teachers is louder. It's not only a challenge, but also a opportunity for improving the quality of teaching and professional development. Based on the previous researches, this dissertation tries to probe into teacher cooperation in primary English teaching both theoretically and practically, analyze the influencing factors in teacher cooperation and provide effective guidance to primary English teaching.There are four parts of this dissertation.The first part is introduction, which focuses on the background, purpose and strategy of this research.The second part discusses the documentary research and theoretical basis of teacher collaborative teaching. In the beginning, it shows the concept of teacher collaborative teaching, and discusses documents of teacher collaborative teaching both in its meaning and practice. Then it analyzes theoretical basis, including synergetics, group dynamics, social division of labor and knowledge sharing. From different viewpoints, they illustrate the significance and reason of teacher collaborative teaching and provide effective guidance to it.The third part is divided into two segments. They are the present situation and influencing factors of teacher collaborative teaching. From analysis of the present situation and problems, it comes to a conclusion that there are five main forms in primary English teaching and there are also some problems, for example, passive cooperation, shortage of English teacher and collaborative time. After that, influencing factors of teacher collaborative teaching are discussed in individual, teacher group, schoolmaster's role and culture in school.The fourth part proposes the strategies for optimized development of primary English teaching. To promote development of primary English teaching, teachers should convert their concept of cooperation, change their work style and improve collaborative capability. In addition, school should establish autonomous teacher organization, offer a open platform, support in all aspects and create collaborative atmosphere between teachers.
