As informational society is coming, students need to develop in a well-rounded way, so that they can adapt to the social requirements and challenges in the 21st century. With its characters of multimedia teaching materials, global resources, personalized teaching, independent learning, automated management, cooperative activities and virtual environment, application of IT in education has attract much attention from educational world and other sectors of the society. Now, many schools have possessed basic facilities for informational teaching, but teachers and managers are not capable of skillfully applying IT to teaching and management and they urgently need to improve IT skills. As a paramount leader, a principle should, basing on his or her position and influence and by his of her capability and activities, promote the formation of an informational environment in his or her school and the improvement of IT skills of all school members, thus enhancing school informationization and the performance of improving students'abilities in an all-rounded way.Informationization leadership refers to the abilities and wisdoms that principles or other managers possess for planning and constructing an informationization development vision, and mobilizing and directing all the school members to make joint efforts to realize this vision during school informationization. In this paper, the author describes what a principle should do in school informationization in detail. First, after looking into literature and comparative analysis, the author gives a simple summary of the differences of the research into informationization leadership of principles at home and abroad, and introduces the fruits foreign countries have made. Then, the author elaborates the intensions of school planning, administrating, supporting and evaluating in informational environment, and introduces some cases, in order to present what to do and how to for principles, who are planners, administrators, supporters and evaluators in school informationization and development. School planning in informational environment consist of fund procurement and allocation, facilities building, maintaining and distribution, informational resources building and allocation, informational management system building, informational team construction, IT application to teaching, and IT skills training and improvement for teachers and students. Compared to traditional school managing, that in informational environment involves wider and more complex problems, so principles can use various measures to complete his managing mission, such as IT-based management system creation, informational management team construction, performance-based management, suitable driving measures setting, relations coordination among different ranks and fields. As a supporter for school informationization and development, a principle should lend himself to IT application to school teaching and administrating and IT skills improvement for teachers and students through vision influence, incentive measures, example presenting and providing sufficient resources and training platforms. School evaluating in informational environment should involves IT application to teaching and management, personnel development, resources and supportive aspects. During evaluation, a principle should aim at improvement, employ people from different areas and by combining formative and summative evaluation, external and internal evaluation to realize scientific and fair result. Finally, the author states what measures exist for training principles of China and the weaknesses, summarizes characters of foreign training methods:mixing patterns, standards-based and that training put emphases on the integration of IT and curriculum and practice, and by an training example, she introduces how to improve informationization leadership of principles in foreign countries...
