Population and economic development issues in different regions and different stages of development show different characteristics need to continue to conduct research and analysis. Taihu Lake Basin population, the high level of economic development, population issues and reform, economic restructuring is intertwined, making the population and economic relations are particularly complex. In this paper, results of existing research on the Taihu Lake Basin population and economic development issues were discussed in order to seek to promote economic development in the Taihu Lake Basin population and ongoing coordination of the path. Full-text is divided into five parts:The first part introduces the research background, significance and international research reviews and research ideas, research methods. The second part of population and economy, the paper analyzes relevant typical theory and reviews in theory, so as to provide research basis.The second part of the Taihu Lake Basin the past two years the situation of population and economic development, and population, economic indicators were positive to a different level of development to quantify the two.The third part we the analysis the Taihu Lake Basin population and economic situation of the harmonious development with the empirical data. Discussed were the impact of population on economic development and economic development and their impact on the population level of coordination. And we introduced a balanced index and coefficient of elasticity of employment to show Taihu Lake Basin population and economic development coordination. The fourth part of the Taihu Lake Basin population and economic development, lack of coordination exists in some of the factors and factor analysis of the causes of disharmony.The fifth part, for the Taihu Lake Basin population and lack of coordination of economic factors that exist in the development, puts forward corresponding countermeasures.
