Independent Institute plays an important role in the higer education. As one of the promotioners of the General Education, Independent Institutes' graduate students boost the social and economic development. For this reason, the educational mode and the Curriculum coverage become the hot issues in educational field. After analysing the demands for development from different perspective of society, Independent Institute and students, the writer reaches the conclusion that the proper Curriculum Building is the guarantee of General Education to meet the development needs of society, Independent Institute and and students. So, to study of Curriculum Building of General Education makes sense in theory and in practice.There are five chapters of this research. It elaborates mainly about proposing the question, the purposes and research methods, in addition, define the core definition in the first chapter. The second chapter deals with the meaning of general education in independent institute. In the third chapter, it compares the recent analysis in domestic and foreign academy. The fourth chapter deals with investigations about the current situation of general education in independent institute. Constructing a system about the general education is discussed in chapter five.The main conclusions can be seen as follows:Firstly, as the main target of independent institute focuses on the professional education. There must be some contradictions. In order to promote general education in independent institute it is necessary to confirm the existence of professional education and by adjusting curriculums appropriately to complete each other.Secondly, during the process of popularizing general education, most work is ostensible or just introduces some foreign theoretical methods. It didn't take the reality of independent institute and the needs of society and students into account which lead the curriculum building seemed unreasonable.
